Is Prayer Enough?

Have you ever wondered, “Is prayer enough?” If prayer was all about us, the answer would be ‘no’. But prayer involves more than us. It involves God. Because prayer involves God, then, yes, sister, prayer is enough.
As one of God’s intercessors I feel that I can completely embrace these words. I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Psalm 116:1-2.
Prayer is about the one we pray to and nothing is impossible with God. Luke 1:37. As one of God’s intercessors this is the very life and breath of what I believe. I know that God hears me. Of things I may doubt, this is never one of them. God has shown me over and over again that he hears me. He listens when I pray to him. And that is why I pray.
You see, If God didn’t listen, no answers would ever come. I could pray until my voice gave out and nothing would happen. I have no power to answer prayer. But God does. And God answers.
I have been blessed to see God bring about answers that were truly impossible with man. But God’s ways are higher than our ways and what stops us cold will not stop him. Because of this we can walk into God’s throne room, kneel at the foot of his throne and pray. And the beautiful part is that God bends down to listen!
He has listened each and every time that I went to my knees or walked for hours praying on behalf of another person in need. He listened when I prayed my daughter-in-law wouldn’t lose the baby, and then he listened when I prayed for her after the miscarriage. God doesn’t always answer in the way we hope, but make no mistake God does listen and God does answer.
You see if you start to believe that God only listens if he does things the way you want him to, you may be tempted to stop praying. The enemy would love that. But, then, you would miss out on the beauty of the blessings God will bring you. I kept praying for my daughter-in-law and my son. God gave them beautiful twin girls.
If you are an intercessor you have seen God answer in many different ways; ways hoped for and ways that caused everyone concerned to grow in faith during difficult times. But, if you are truly an intercessor then you didn’t stop praying because, like me, you know God is listening and you know He will answer because with God prayer is enough.
