Prayer Requests for One Mission Society (OMS)

From the Office of the President and the Executive Director of Global Ministries

  • Praise God for the new missionaries he has called and sent. Pray that many more workers will respond to God’s call as OMS seeks to add 125 new missionaries to address the vast unfinished task.

  • Pray for God’s protection over OMS, for unity among leaders and staff, and for wisdom as important decisions are made.

  • Pray for our Member Care team as they support missionaries and their families around the world. Ask God to give them wisdom, compassion, and discernment as they care for both missionaries and their children.

  • Pray that God will continue to give clear vision and direction as OMS seeks to engage the one to reach the many and help fulfill the Great Commission among unreached peoples.

  • Pray for our regional directors and field leaders who oversee ministry in many countries. Ask God to protect them and their families, strengthen them spiritually, and give them wisdom, skill, and effectiveness as they lead.

  • Pray that those the Lord is calling into missions will hear that call, accept it in their heart, and come forward to join us in the mission to bring salvation to the peoples of the world.

The following prayer requests come from our OMS Regional Directors

Elegant Minimal Interior

1

Europe/Middle East

Teams in war zones:

  • Emotional, mental, and spiritual protection as they endure attacks on the city

  • May they be the hands, feet, and mouth of Jesus in this difficult time for the people around them

  • May God bring peace in the region and an end to the conflict in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Healthy laborers:

  • Spiritually – That everyone would operate out of an overflow of what they received from the Lord, operating in the Spirit and not the flesh.

  • Physically – Strength as the summer brings heat and lots of ministry opportunities. Some people who are dealing with chronic illness need breakthroughs.

  • Emotionally – For healthy relationships and healthy boundaries.

  • Mentally – Clarity in thinking, solving problems, planning, and logistics.

Healthy teams:

  • Unity

  • Love for one another

  • Heart of prayer

  • Wisdom in ministry

Healthy region:

  • Revival! For stumbling blocks to be removed so that revival can come

  • Wisdom in decisions concerning OMS ministries that affect the region

  • Unity between all our OMS missionaries and ministry partners

  • For God to call more people to the region!

Africa

  • Village Church Planting (VCP) has nearly 400 training centers that have started or will begin in the first six months of 2026. Pray that they will start off on a strong note.

  • Some of our VCP work is in dangerous locations. We received the news that in mid-May, one of our church planters in Nigeria was killed. He leaves behind a wife and two young children. Please pray for the Lord's protection for our workers.

  • There has been a recent outbreak of Ebola in parts of Africa. Pray for the health of our workers and for their ability to resume travel to affected areas.

  • VCP has been invited to Egypt, where we will assist our partner denomination in planting cell groups that multiply. This is new work for us; pray that our VCP principles will be well-received and well-practiced.

  • The West Africa Missionary Movements (WAMM) team has launched two couples to new countries in West Africa where they will work among unreached people groups. Pray that they will find men and women of peace (see Luke 10:5-6) and that they will gain connections to communities.

  • Pray for the new VCP supervisor, F. He stepped into this role in April, leading the work across three nations in Central Africa.

  • Pray for the work of VCP in Ethiopia, where we are experiencing an amazing receptivity to the Gospel.

Latin America /
Caribbean

  • Pray for our Caribbean partners in the daily struggle to minister faithfully while facing shortages of food, fuel, and medicine. May they be encouraged, may their vision for local and global kingdom outreach continue strong, and may they experience supernatural provision in every way.

  • Pray for short-term teams and Embark opportunities to continue growing and helping develop vision for long-term missionary commitments.

  • Pray for our residential and itinerant missionaries to experience God’s faithful provision, encouragement when weary, strength and health for each day, and a clear vision forward. May we walk in daily obedience.

  • Pray for God’s direction forward as we develop pathways for missionary sending from within our region, especially from Brazil and Colombia. Pray for the needed structures and logistics, for strong, faithful supporting churches and individuals in each country, and for a clear mission vision in those God is calling.

4

Asia / Pacific

  • Korea – OMS Korea will now not only receive missionaries but also send Korean missionaries to OMS fields. Pray for the many logistics and details that need to be worked through and set up. Lift up Rev. Johnny Song as he leads the field.

  • Taiwan – Our national partners, the Taiwan Holiness Church, will celebrate their 100th anniversary in August, and the Chung Tai Theological Seminary will celebrate 75 years in November. Pray for this field as we look ahead to the next 100 years and consider how we can collaborate.

  • Japan – Praise God for the number of people he is calling to reach the unreached in Japan. Pray for leadership as we are in a time of transition, that God would raise up the right leader.

  • Thailand – Praise the Lord for the movement that is happening among the unreached in Thailand. Pray that new believers will understand the Word more deeply. Pray for protection for our missionaries who are seeing exciting things happen where the evil one does not want to see success. Pray for unity on the team.

  • Philippines – Praise God for the continuing expansion of the saturation project. Pray for mapping initiatives as they work to reach the whole country. Pray for this field as they prepare to be an associate sending country with OMS.

  • Asia/Oceania – Pray for our missionaries and national partners in the seminaries and denomination, as there is a desire to work well together to reach all areas and islands of this country. Praise for the provision of support through personnel and other resources for improving the seminaries, which are alive and active but in need of repair. Praise that some are feeling the call to serve outside their culture and go to a near-culture to share the Gospel. One sign of a mature church is looking beyond itself.

  • South Asia – Pray that our national partners would be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves in these countries where there is persecution, difficulty supporting themselves financially, and civil war for some. Praise for how the ministry is growing despite all they face.

  • Central Asia – Pray for this country as we look at a time of transition due to the retirement of our faithful servant at the end of 2026. Pray that leadership will have wisdom in the next steps for this ministry, which has such kingdom potential but needs sustainable resources.

  • East Asia – Praise God for the ongoing growth of his ministry and for the protection of his workers who are under constant surveillance.

  • Southeast Asia – Praise for the Lord for fruitful ministry and for open doors to unreached areas and peoples.
