Are All Intercessors Created Equally?

When God created us, he created a distinctly unique array of human beings.  None of us are quite the same, yet each one is loved by God.

Each intercessor is unique in their Spiritual gifts of prayer.  One might be inclined to think that all are created the same.  Yet, this is not the case.  We are incredibly different and what a joy that is!  One intercessor may have the gift of being a mercy and crisis intercessor.  Another intercessor may be strong in praying healing prayers. 

A few intercessors are gifted as warfare intercessors while others pray powerfully for finances and prefer to have a list they pray from. 

Still others of us have the gifting of being a personal intercessor and of praying prophetically.  And let us not forget our intercessors who are called to pray for the Nations.

Is one type of intercessor better than another?  Not at all.  We have each been created and gifted according to God’s plan and the purpose he has for us to fulfill.  Some will focus their prayers consistently in one area while others who have multiple gifts in intercession will be called upon to use their gifts in prayer in a far different way.  God uses each of us.

Intercessors are not only gifted differently.  We also pray quite differently from one another.  As the leader of our prayer team, I can tell you that if each one were to send me a written prayer and I couldn’t even hear their physical voices, I would know who was praying just by the way the words were being prayed.  We each have a unique voice in prayer.

Some of our intercessors pray quietly and carefully.  Some of us pray with passion.  Still another may pray quite loud and exuberantly.   Some pause frequently while others of us seem to have the words pour out!  Scripture tells us that God looks at our heart.  I’ve no doubt that while we intercessors are gifted differently and we pray differently, God’s main concern is the heart of an intercessor.  It is in our hearts of loving and trusting our Lord in prayer that we become united.  In this we know that God hears and loves each of his intercessors.
