Confused by the Facts

By Jacqui – One of God’s Intercessors

There are books that have been written about the promises of God. We sing songs about these same promises. We pray God’s promises and stand in faith upon them!

Have you ever thought about God’s facts? As an intercessor I don’t pray the Scriptures with God’s statements of fact as a question. I pray them as they are written, as a fact from God. Then, I wait for God to be Glorified. Let me explain.

In 2 Corinthians 12:9 God says, “My grace is sufficient for you.” We don’t have to ask God if his grace will be sufficient for us. We don’t have to pray, “God, please make your grace sufficient for me.” God has already declared his grace is sufficient for us.

Lettie Cowman used a quote from H.W. Webb Peploe in one of her devotions. In reference to this same verse from Scripture he writes, “Never change God’s facts into hopes or prayers, but simply accept them to be powerful as you believe them.”

John 3:16 the most powerful verse in Scripture is not something we have to ask for. It is a God fact; a gift already given to us. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Isn’t it amazing to think that God has already given his Son for us? Whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life! If you are a believer in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, as I am, then we will not perish. We will have eternal life! No matter what sins you may have committed, friend, God’s grace is sufficient for you.

Being one of God’s intercessors, I need never ask God in prayer if he would please give his son for you. He already has. It’s a fact. I need never ask God in prayer if his grace could be sufficient for you. It already is.

So, here is my prayer today, dear friend.

Father God,

I humbly thank you for sending your only Son to die for me and for my friend, _______________, who is praying with me now. I thank you that ______________________ will not perish, nor will I, but that we will have eternal life with you in heaven because we believe that Jesus Christ is your Son and our Savior! Thank you, Lord, that no matter what we are going through, your grace is sufficient and will carry us through. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
